Where To Find An Indestructible Watch?

There are plenty of durable watches that you can wear during intense outdoor activity without a care in the world. An outdoor watch can often simply be a casual watch that’s built to be among the toughest watches on the market. These watches are scratch-resistant and capable of surviving in extreme conditions. Many of these watches are military-inspired and as such are worn by military personnel. Some can even be described as genuine tactical watches.

These aren’t primarily men’s outdoor watches as companies have now begun to cater to both genders with their durable watches. They are designed to not only survive harsh working conditions but also maintain peak performance. Above all, these watches must be shock resistant. However, it is still recommended to store your watch inside a watch box when not in use.

They will not be able to survive if they’re unable to hold their own against bumps and drops. Since they are designed as functional tools, these rugged watches include additional features such as water resistance, altimeter, barometer, and are topped off with a sapphire crystal. These field watches often happen to be solar watches, so there’s little reason to worry about losing charge. Some manufacturers no longer stick to the analog watch approach. They have begun offering hybrid watches as well, which combined a robust analog display with smart functionality.

There is a noticeable difference between conventional robust watches and military watches. A martial sports or military diver watch will have a specific set of functions that are better suited for tactical use. Regular rugged watches may not always offer the same functionality, but that doesn’t mean they’re not as durable. These indestructible watches are thus great for those who would want the peace of mind that their watch can survive anything they throw at it. They usually have rubber watch straps, as this material is much more durable than a stainless steel strap that could get scratched easily.

Which Brands are Indestructible?

Victorinox Swiss Army

Victorinox Swiss Army is a well-regarded watch company that makes such timepieces. The Victorinox Swiss Army Men’s I.N.O.X. watch is an excellent example of a durable watch. The company has tested its durability by running an actual tank over it, boiling it, freezing it, and just about everything you wouldn’t encounter in real life. It has survived all of that.

Seiko SNE331

The Seiko SNE331 is another great option. It has a classic black dial and nylon strap. The 43mm stainless steel case has a Hardlex dial window and a 10-month power reserve when it’s fully charged. The Timex Expedition collection offers a variety of outdoor watches that will surely hit the mark for many customers. Perhaps the most well regarded of models is the Expedition Gallatin. The case itself is made from a durable and lightweight resin and includes a tactical dial. You wouldn’t need night vision goggles to read it in the dark courtesy of its Indiglo Light-Up dial feature.

Casio G-Shock Military Watches

Casio G-Shock military watches are considered some of the most robust watches on the market. The G-Shock Rangeman series has been a customer favorite for a long time not only because of its exceptional shock resistance but additional functionality like the digital compass.

The G-Shock Frogman Series

The G-Shock Frogman series is water-resistant up to 200m, which means that this is a proper dive watch. You can measure your scuba diving sessions up to six hours, and it even has an alarm to notify you if you’re ascending too quickly. Made for adventure seekers, the Casio Protek series watches offer a compass, sensors for barometric pressure and temperature as well as a tide indicator.

Marathon Search and Rescue

While we’re on the subject of divers watches, the Marathon Search and Rescue watch has an automatic movement, up to 300m water resistance, and excellent credentials. It has self-illuminating tritium gas tubes that have been developed to last for up to 25 years. It was worn by the troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. If it was able to survive the battlefield, this durable watch could surely withstand your active lifestyle as well.

Omega Seamaster

The Omega Seamaster is another favorite among divers since it also has water resistance up to 300m. Furthermore, it has the prestige that’s attached to iconic Swiss watch manufacturers.

Luminox

This list wouldn’t be complete without a Luminox watch and its Sea A.N.U. Chrono series certainly fits the bill. A.N.U. stands for Authorized for Navy Use and the watch looks super cool with its black dial and matching case.

Suunto Traverse Alpha

Those who are in the market for a G.P.S. watch should look no further than the Suunto Traverse Alpha series. It offers watches that are certified to the military’s MIL-STD-810G durability standards with additional features like weather tracking and storm alarms.

Conclusion

All of these options provide something for everyone. Whether you want to casually wear a tough watch or want a watch that doubles as a tool for you out in the field, there’s really no shortage of exceptional indestructible watches in the market.
